James has worked with us over a period of two years filming a variety of events and experiences that the school offers.  He has contributed positively in an editorial capacity enabling us to put together a DVD that illustrates the ethos that we wished to portray.  James has a calm approach to his work that enables him to easily disappear into the background.  This is, of course, really valuable in an environment where distraction could easily reduce the quality of the very experience one is trying to capture.   James is at ease with adults and children find him very approachable.  He shows a good understanding of potentially sensitive issues associated with filming.  We are delighted with the DVD that James has produced for King’s St. Alban’s and with the efficiency and responsive service that he offers.

James Atkinson is a much valued free-lance artist who has been employed by the Music Pool to deliver workshops in his specialist area of film making. It has been a real pleasure to have James on board this project. His brief has been to make five films, each set in differing historical periods with a variety of secondary schools. I am very pleased with the way Ian and James have set up this series of one-day community drama workshops for us. They had planned their workshop carefully, researching their background, and planning the costumes, props and equipment they would need. Their interaction with participants was superb: friendly, motivational, inspiring, and pitched at the right level. This meant that the end-results - an absorbing day-long drama workshop, and a thoroughly entertaining public performance - not had only educational value, but were engaging for participants and audience alike. I was impressed with James and Ian's multi-media approach, mixing live-acting with pieces filmed on the day, with music, and with shadow puppetry. As a member of the audience, I was entertained, and as a client, I was - and continue to be - very happy with their work. From a client's point of view, I enjoy working with Ian and James. Their approach is professional and competent and I would approach them again for future projects.
